Los eventos de este día en México fueron complejos. El propósito de esta convocatoria es

dar luz a la expresión artística que surgió de ellos. No buscamos hacer de las causas o los

conflictos que pudieron haberlos precedido parte de la conversación. Somos un espacio de

arte y nos enfocamos en la expresión humana y el arte que emerge cuando este tipo de

acontecimientos impactan a la sociedad.

IF6WAS9 Contemporary Art Space invita a fotógrafas y fotógrafos a enviar su trabajo para

El Día del Silencio, una exposición que documenta e interpreta lo ocurrido el 22 de febrero

de 2026 —un día que quienes lo vivieron en Puerto Vallarta, y en pueblos y ciudades de

otras partes de México, recordarán por mucho tiempo. Un silencio marcado por el caos y

el miedo; uno que se fue asentando a lo largo de las horas de ese día y los días que

siguieron—.

El Día del Silencio no es solo un registro. Es un intento de mirar con detenimiento aquello

que nos atravesó como sociedad y que poco comprendimos. Buscamos imágenes que nos

cuestionen, ofrezcan nuevas perspectivas o encuentren la textura humana en medio de la

incertidumbre.

Un jurado de fotógrafas, fotógrafos, curadores y voces culturales seleccionará hasta 50

obras para la exposición. Los fotógrafos seleccionados deberán preparar y enmarcar suspropias piezas de acuerdo con las especificaciones que se entregarán al momento de la

selección.

Q u é B u s c a m o s

Daremos importancia igual a tres aspectos:

01 Va l o r D o c u m e n t a l

¿La imagen captura honestamente algo verdadero de ese día? ¿Contribuye al registro visual de un

evento que importa?

02 V i s i ó n A r t í s t i c a

¿El fotógrafo aporta una perspectiva distinta, un ángulo inesperado o una profundidad emocional que va

más allá del reportaje directo?

03 O f i c i o Fo t o g r á f i c o

Composición, luz, encuadre, timing. La ejecución técnica importa. Una imagen técnicamente débil no

se salva por su tema.

Las mejores obras pueden ser silenciosas o intensas, cercanas o amplias, literales o

abstractas. Pueden mostrar el fuego, las secuelas, o el rostro de alguien que observa. Lo

que deben hacer es sostener la atención y recompensarla.

L i n e a m i e n t o s d e E n v í o

—Las imágenes deben haber sido tomadas el 22 de febrero de 2026 o en los días inmediatos al evento

—Se aceptan fotografías de todos los niveles — profesional, independiente, documental, arte

—Se pueden enviar hasta 5 imágenes por fotógrafo/a

—Las imágenes deben enviarse como JPEG de alta resolución (mínimo 3000 px en el lado largo, 300

dpi)

—Las obras deben ser originales y propiedad exclusiva de quien las envía

—Los ajustes deben limitarse a correcciones fotográficas estándar — exposición, color, contraste,

recorte y similares. No se permite el uso de edición generativa con inteligencia artificial, manipulación

asistida por IA ni composición de ningún tipo

—Los derechos de autor permanecen con el fotógrafo/a en todo momento. Al enviar su trabajo, se

otorga a IF6WAS9 Contemporary Art Space el derecho de usar las imágenes con fines de promoción y

documentación de la exposición, siempre con créditoNota sobre anonimato: Entendemos que algunas fotógrafas y fotógrafos pueden haber

documentado situaciones sensibles. Si tienes inquietudes sobre tu identificación,

escríbenos directamente antes de enviar tu trabajo.

C ó m o E n v i a r

Envía tus imágenes junto con tu nombre, datos de contacto, una breve descripción de cada

imagen (lugar, hora del día si se conoce, y contexto relevante), y 2–3 oraciones sobre ti a:

The events of this day in Mexico were complex. The purpose of this endeavor is to shine a

light on the artistic expression that followed. We are not suggesting that the complex issues

that may have led up to what occurred be made part of the conversation. We are an art

space and are focused on the human expression and the art that flows when such moments

impact society.

A b o u t  t h e  E x h i b i t i o n

IF6WAS9 Contemporary Art Space invites photographers to submit work for Day of

Silence, an exhibition documenting and interpreting what occurred on February 22, 2026

— a day that those who lived it in Puerto Vallarta, and in towns and cities throughout other

parts of Mexico, will long remember. A silence shaped by chaos and fear; one that settled

over the long hours of that day and into the days that followed —.

Day of Silence is not just a record. It is an attempt to look with care at what passed through

us as a society, and that few of us fully understood. We are seeking images that challenge

us, offer new angles of vision, or find the human texture amid uncertainty.

A jury of photographers, curators, and cultural voices will select up to 50 works for the

exhibition. Selected photographers will be asked to prepare and frame their own pieces

according to specifications provided at the time of selection.

W h a t  W e ' r e  L o o k i n g  F o r

We are giving equal weight to three things:

01 D o c u m e n t a r y Va l u e

Does the image honestly capture something true about that day? Does it contribute to the visual record

of an event that matters?

02 A r t i s t i c V i s i o n

Does the photographer bring a distinct perspective, an unexpected angle, or an emotional depth that

goes beyond straight reportage?

03 P h o t o g r a p h i c C r a f t

Composition, light, framing, timing. Technical execution matters. A technically weak image will not be

saved by its subject alone.

Strong submissions may be quiet or loud, close or wide, literal or abstract. They may show

fire, or aftermath, or the face of someone watching. What they must do is hold your

attention and reward it.

S u b m i s s i o n G u i d e l i n e s

—Images must have been taken on February 22, 2026 or in the immediate days surrounding the event

—All photographers are welcome — professional, independent, documentary, fine art

—Up to 5 images may be submitted per photographer

—Images must be submitted as high-resolution JPEGs (minimum 3000px on the long edge, 300 dpi)

—Submissions must be original work and the sole property of the submitting photographer

—Edits must be limited to standard photographic adjustments — exposure, color, contrast, cropping,

and similar corrections. Generative AI editing, AI-assisted manipulation, or compositing of any kind is

not permitted

—Copyright remains with the photographer at all times. By submitting, you grant IF6WAS9

Contemporary Art Space the right to use your images for exhibition promotion and documentation

purposes, with full credit

A note on anonymity: We understand that some photographers may have documented

sensitive situations. If you have concerns about being identified, please reach out to us

directly before submitting.
