Drawing inspiration from human emotions, Jesus Godinez gravitates towards figurative art, infusing his creations with expressions of death, loneliness, abandonment, and diverse perspectives on sexuality
Born in Guadalajara, Mexico in 1977, this cutting-edge contemporary painter embarked on his artistic journey from a tender age, honing his skills through empirical drawing. Under the tutelage of teacher Armando Anguiano at the age of 15, he delved deeper into the realm of art, acquiring knowledge and techniques that would serve as the foundation for his future endeavors. His passion led him to pursue formal education at the School of Fine Arts, where he continually augmented his expertise through diplomas and courses.

Proficient in various mediums including oil painting, acrylics, and mixed techniques, he explores a multitude of themes in his work. Drawing inspiration from human emotions, he gravitates towards figurative art, infusing his creations with expressions of death, loneliness, abandonment, and diverse perspectives on sexuality.

His artistic vision is characterized by the creation of evocative atmospheres, often tinged with darkness, where chromatic contrasts and plays of light take center stage. His portfolio boasts a spectrum of exhibitions, both group and individual, held in prestigious venues such as the Tlaquepaque Shelter. Notably, he contributed to the mural in the Fernando del Paso Library at High School No. 8 of the University of Guadalajara.

Beyond the canvas, his talents extend to costume and set design, as evidenced by his collaboration on Vivian Blumenthal's "The Wings of the Night" published by Petra Ediciones in 2005. His early recognition in the form of an honorable mention and acknowledgment in JALISCO ARTE YOUNG 1999 underscores his promising trajectory in the realm of contemporary art.
