Gentrification has been a growing issue for several years, and its impact is increasingly evident in Mexico. This painting addresses the social problem that directly affects us, with consequences such as rising housing prices, rent, and basic services, the loss of social and cultural diversity, the exclusion and marginalization of popular communities, and the privatization and homogenization of public spaces.

This work presents a poignant critique of gentrification, capturing the profound social and economic shifts that reshape urban landscapes. The artist confronts the unsettling realities of displacement, highlighting the erosion of cultural richness and community as neighborhoods are transformed. Through a combination of stark imagery and layered symbolism, the painting challenges the viewer to reflect on the complex dynamics of power, privilege, and exclusion, underscoring the urgent need for dialogue around the future of public and private spaces in rapidly changing cities.
