### *Serenidad y Ruinas: The Abstract Dialogues of Manuel Guardado*
**Exhibition Dates: October 14 – November 25, 2024**
**Location: Exclusively Online at www.if6was9.art and artsy.net**
*if6was9.art* is proud to announce *Serenidad y Ruinas: The Abstract Dialogues of Manuel Guardado*, an exclusive online exhibition of new works by Mexican multidisciplinary artist Manuel Guardado. Running from October 14 through November 25, 2024, the exhibition showcases Guardado’s innovative exploration of form, space, and the intersection of the real and the abstract.
Featuring his latest eight-piece linocut series *"Serenidad"* and three newly completed mokulito (wood lithography) prints—*"Prospecto"*, *"Secuencia"*, and *"Ruinas"*, all created in 2024—this exhibition delves into Guardado’s architectural background and his fascination with the surreal. The works offer viewers an introspective journey through serene, abstract landscapes where physical structures seem to dissolve into dreamlike realms.
**Key Highlights:**
- The *"Serenidad"* series consists of eight abstract linocuts, each 30 x 20 cm, printed on cotton paper in a limited edition of 20. These works highlight the artist’s masterful blending of architectural forms with surreal, subconscious elements, evoking a sense of introspective calm.
- The three mokulito prints—*"Prospecto"*, *"Secuencia"*, and *"Ruinas"*—explore themes of materiality, transformation, and decay. From the dynamic textures of *Prospecto* to the fluid magenta tones of *Secuencia* and the earthy, brutalist influences of *Ruinas*, these works offer a compelling contrast to the serenity of the linocut series.
Manuel Guardado, whose background in architecture from the Jesuit University of Guadalajara informs much of his artistic practice, is a key figure in contemporary Mexican art. His work spans photography, installation, sound, and printmaking, influenced by avant-garde movements such as deconstructivism, brutalism, and abstract expressionism.
Guardado is also a dedicated cultural advocate. He founded *Rutas Plásticas A.C.*, an initiative aimed at decentralizing the cultural landscape in Jalisco, and leads *Semilla Gráfica*, an organization promoting contemporary printmaking. His original workshop, *Taller Gráfica Abierta*, has since evolved into *Taller Industria*, a collaborative studio that fosters international artistic partnerships and co-editions.
**Exhibition Details:**
*Serenidad y Ruinas* will be available for viewing exclusively online at www.if6was9.art and artsy.net from October 14 to November 25, 2024. Viewers from around the world are invited to experience Guardado’s profound exploration of form, memory, and the subconscious.
